Real Wedding Feature – Siena and Tyson

Overview: Saturday, June 29th, 2024. A personal floral fairytale themed summer wedding at La Venta Inn, every element, from the floral palette to the styling, was meant to evoke a sense of enchantment and effortless beauty.

Getting ready for the day with champagne & coastal views!

Starting at 7:45am in the Ocean View Cottage, the bridal partyโ€™s breakfast snacks included Fresh Seasonal Fruit Platter and Chef Choice Seasonal Pastry Basket with Seasonal Muffins, Petite Pain Au Chocolat Croissants, and Seasonal Scones, served with champagne on ice in a silver bucket.

One of our personal favorite moments from this morning was the scrapbook for the bride.

Boys, Beers, & Briocheย

At 12:15pm in Groom’s Hideaway Suite, the groomsmen party receive beers on ice, along with Assorted Gourmet Mini Sandwiches on Brioche Buns and Fresh Seasonal Fruit Platter The sandwiches selected included: House Roasted Turkey with Brie, Garlic & Walnut Aioli with Baby Arugula, Mesquite Grilled Shredded Chicken with Baby Spinach & Basil Lemon Pesto, and Slow Roasted Pulled Pork with Chipotle Aioli & Cilantro Slaw. Following getting ready, the groomsmen took their group portraits around the grounds of La Venta. As seen on Instagram, letโ€™s get this party started!

Two First Looks

First, there was the father-daughter first look, where you can see the proud look in his eyes.

And then, the exciting heartfelt moment, the first look of the bride & groom! The first look of awe and admiration is forever imprinted in our hearts. And to the bridesmaids sneaking a peek in the cottage? We see you!

Private Exchange of Personal Vows

Before their ceremony, the couple shared a private vow exchange, just the two of them tucked away from the hustle of the day. In that quiet moment, they spoke from the heart, sharing personal vows filled with emotion and promises uniquely their own. It was an intimate and grounding pause before stepping into the celebration ahead. During the following main ceremony, they exchanged rings and traditional vows in front of their family and friends. By choosing to do both, they honored the depth of their personal connection while still embracing the timeless ritual of a public vow exchange.

Portraits in the Garden

Following the first look with the father of the bride and the first look of the bride and groom, a variety of portraits were taken before the ceremony began to allow for more time for the couple to celebrate with their guests, including bridal party photos, groomsmen photos, and B&G portraits. The colors of the sky complemented their wedding theme and florals, with every photo turning out stunning. As seen on Instagram, Siena + Tysonโ€™s summer garden wedding was both enchanting and elegant, with soft and airy floral details all around! ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒฟ

Something Blue

Bridesmaids wore matching Jasmine Halter Dresses in Steel Blue Luxe Satin from Show Me Your Mumu. The brideโ€™s dress is Louvienne in the Malea style.

Delicate & Whimsical Florals

Highlighted on La Ventaโ€™s Instagram, and from Pamela of French Bouquet, โ€œthey both envisioned florals that felt natural, airy filled with soft porcelain tones of creamy white, lavender, blush and lush greens.โ€

Sienaโ€™s bridal bouquet complimented her elegant, ballerina-like silhouette with a combination of blush peonies, sweet peas, blush dahlias, butterfly ranunculus, blush scabiosa, and blue tweedia, all wrapped in raw silk ribbon.

The goal of the ceremony florals was to create a dreamy floral garden for the bride to walk through, accomplished by leaning into a floral palette that felt natural yet elevated, with a balance of romantic blooms and gentle lavender accents. The aisle was finished by gently wrapping the iron railing at the stairs with wild vine and attaching a pop of flowers. The below ceremony florals were chosen for their form, texture, and dreaminess:

  • Peonies โ€“ Lush, ruffled petals and romantic charm bringing a soft, full-bodied texture.
  • Blue Delphinium โ€“ These tall, spiked blooms add graceful height and a striking pop of blue and a touch of whimsy.
  • Quicksand Roses โ€“ Unique dusty blush hue evokes timeless elegance, with beauty and versatility in romantic palettes.
  • Lavender Scabiosa โ€“ Light and airy, adds a wildflower feel with its delicate pincushion shape.
  • Lavender Allium โ€“ Adds texture and a hint of modern flair with their globe-like blooms.

A Ceremony Surrounded by Love & Florals

Guests arrived at 3:45pm, greeted by tray-passed champagne and to the sound of the harpist playing pre-ceremony music, with an announcement for the unplugged ceremony and guests to take their seats at 3:50pm for a 4pm ceremony start time. The harpist played โ€œMake You Feel My Loveโ€ as the groom, parents, and bridal party walked down the aisle. For the bride and father, the harpist beautifully played the song โ€œCanon in D.โ€

With lush florals lining the aisle and stone altar at La Venta Inn, the setting for Siena & Tysonโ€™s wedding ceremony was serene & whimsical. The ceremony space was designed to feel lush, romantic, and intimate, with flowers seemingly growing naturally around the aisle and altar, creating a garden-like setting that felt both whimsical and elevated. One of the sweetest details was the flower girls carrying her garden inspired flower basket which added a charming, storybook touch. The ceremony was officiated by Andrew Whisner. The couple and their guests walked down the stone aisle along the most beautiful purple & pink floral arrangements with stunning ocean views behind it

Following the end of the ceremony at 4:30pm, guests were directed to the outside courtyard for cocktail hour while the extended family and friends took their group photos.

Cocktail Hour Hors Dโ€™oeuvres

The harpist continued playing music during cocktail hour as tray passed hors dโ€™oeuvres were served to guests in the courtyard and connected ballroom, which included a variety of pescetarian, carnivore, and vegetarian options:

  1. Fluffy Spicy Tuna with Sweet Miso on Golden Crispy Rice garnished with Green Onions (cold) As seen on Instagram here
  2. Mini Sirloin Sliders with Aged White Cheddar, Caramelized Onions & Garlic Aioli (hot)ย
  3. Smoked Shrimp Tacos with Sweet White Corn Puree & Guacamole in Hand Fried Wonton Shells (cold)
  4. Grilled Parmesan Polenta Rounds with Wild Mushroom Rosemary Ragu with Creamy Goat Cheese & Micro Herbs (hot)

Citrus Cocktails in the Courtyard

Along with champagne, a variety of beers, and red/white/sparkling wines, signature cocktails from the Diamond Bar were tray passed by the Made by Meg Catering staff during cocktail hour in the historic courtyard with fresh florals decorating the central fountain, as seen on Instagram.

Signature Sips:

  • Lavender Thyme Lemon Drop: Sienaโ€™s Cocktail, with Vodka, Triple Sec, MBM Lavender Thyme Syrup, Lemon Juice. Garnished with a Fresh Thyme Sprig
  • Grapefruit Margarita: Tysonโ€™s Cocktail, Tequila, Triple Sec, Grapefruit Juice, Lime Juice, MBM Simple Syrup. Garnished with Tajin Rim and Dehydrated Lime Wheel

Their photographer Jessica Lynn beautifully captured the moment with black and white cheers photos during cocktail hour.

Wine Bottle Guest Book ๐Ÿท

Located next to the seating chart in the courtyard, their creative and meaningful guest book celebrated milestones to come. A collection of wine bottles was set out on the welcome table next to photos from their engagement, each labeled with a future anniversary year (1st, 5th, 10th, etc.), and guests were invited to sign their names and leave handwritten notes directly on the bottles using metallic permanent markers. These bottles became keepsakes filled with love and well wishes, to be uncorked and enjoyed on the corresponding anniversaries. A beautiful way to relive the joy of their wedding day year after year, while savoring a special bottle of wine and the kind words of friends and family who helped Siena and Tyson celebrate the beginning of their forever.

Here are some ideas of what to wear for semi-formal weddings, including ruffles, mid-length dresses, textures, and tie-optional suits, as seen with their very guest list.
